Favorite keyboard shortcuts
Lock an object: Ctrl+2
Unlock all: Ctr+alt+2
to change a stroke into a fill, select it and click:
"path>outline stroke"
join path ends: control+shift+ alt+ J
direct select tool: A
Move tool: V
Direct select lassoo: Q
temp switch to direct select tool from any tool: "ctrl+click"
deselect: "Ctrl+shift+A"
Eyedropper tool: i
Convert Anchor Point Tool: "shift+C"
convert end of path to sharp corner : choose pen tool
(P) then hover over point, hold Alt and drag in desired
direction
to close a pencil path, hold Alt as you approach completing
the circle and let go of the mouse before the alt key.
gradient stops: select the gradient stop, press "i",
hold 'shift', sample a color from artwork.
Drag artboard: spacebar and drag
Zoom in: Ctrl+spacebar
Zoom out: Ctrl+alt+spacebar
change font size: Ctrl+shift+>

Favorite keyboard short cuts:
- Ctrl+alt+0 (image to 100%)
- V (move tool)
- TAB (hides all palettes)
- D (default colors of black and white in tool bar)
- X (swaps foreground and background colors)
- Ctrl+Shift+N (adds new layer, lets you name it first)
- Ctrl+Shift+alt+T (adds new layer and repeats last tranformation
on the new layer)
- see last filter box, same settings (alt+ctrl+F)
- shift+double click palette bar = snap palette to edge of
window
- shift+(any tools shortcut key) to cycle thru that tools subset
- Fill layers contents with foreground color(shift+alt+backspace)
- move a layer down one (ctrl+[)
- change brush size left or right bracket( ][ )
- change hardness of brush (shift+[ )
- isolate an inner group of marching ants ( shift+alt+drag)
- to move a single character up off the baseline, select it
and press (shift+alt+up arrow)
- alt+0149 creates a bullet
- to get quick mask to show up as black and white, enter channels and hide visibility of the rgb channel, click the quick mask channel, press tilde ( ~ )
- hold alt while dragging shadow/highlight slider in levels to preview first changing pixels
